Action Reflection

I think that action is what people do to help others. It is what we do to raise awareness to let people know about current events in our world. Many people take action. I think that people who take action are people who care about our world and other countries. People who take action are open minded instead of not caring for others and only care about how their city or nation is doing. I think that big disasters in our world cause people to take action. Here are some things that kids did to take care of our world:

• Bike Ride: raise money for Haiti children
• Sharing knowledge with sick kids: fishing
• Reusable lunch bags
• Manatee quilt: raise awareness + money to help save the manatee
• Pet food bank
• Collect + recycle old, broken ,non-used crayons
• Lemonade stand: raise money for Haiti
• Birthday clean up day

Hate Reflection

Hate starts with hate. Hate can be caused by someone having a certain opinion about somebody else. Hate could be towards religion , culture or beliefs and values. Bullying is a form of hate. Differences can between people can cause hate (color, gender, opinion). Some people hate others to try to gain popularity which is just wrong. People who are narrow-minded hate. They only make their ideas be the best instead of knowing that somebody else's is also a good answer. Some poor countries have people who build a daycare center and want to teach the kids for free. the people give them their kids. Then the people who set up the daycare center for kids to learn things get brainwashed and learn how to hate others. I can't believe this is actually happening on our planet.

Central Idea Reflection

I think that "We The Kids promise to help build relationships and tear down hate and learn about each other in order to have a safer community" is the best Central Idea. I think this because it seems like having a safer community would help everybody in our community learn about each other in a better way. You could be a bully and pick on a certain kid. He might be a really smart kid that is an expert at many classes that you aren't. Someday, he might even help you. Building relationships is very important to know about each other and not hate each other. Everyday, you could learn something about somebody that you never knew about them that you thought was interesting. Both you and that person could get together and tell each other what you like and don't like and then connect on things that you both have in common. It's really simple. If we all want a safer community, then we need to destroy hate.

Central Idea ideas

• To help our world become a better place, our generation needs to help stop hate.
• To be true to yourself means not to hate
• We The Kids promise to help build relationships and tear down hate and to learn about each other in order to have a safer community
• Hate prevents people from being socially, physically healthy and having good relationships.
• Friendly human relationships can destroy hate and make the world safe.
• To be human means to not hate, but to appreciate things while you can.

I think that my group will do fine but not perfect. We will have many difficulties in some places, an have easier times in others. The reason I'm saying that my group will do fine but not perfec was because the group members of my group gget of- task very often. But I still think we might be able to squeeze through and finish our projec that is passing and done on time. We will need alot of help,though, if we want to finish it on time and have a passing grade.I think our mentors will have many ideas about what we should do. I think that our group is great and we'll be able to do our project correctly.

Bullying Reflection

Today, we separated into groups of different issues. I was put into the individual bullying group because that's what group I asked my teacher to put me into. I think that bullying is easy in some parts on how to stop it and there are also some hard parts.Here are some facts I found out about bullying:

• Needs to be stopped.
• It can hurt feelings and break friendships.
• Someone will always get hurt.
• Cyber bullying: When a bully sends you bad messages by phone. You should NEVER give someone your email or phone number to someone you can't trust.
• Physical Bullying: When a bully hits you or touches to your body.
• Using bad language is also a way of bullying someone.
